The New Wife

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I just finished reading “The New Wife” by Gemma Rogers. Many thanks to NetGalley and BoldWood books for the Advanced Copy in exchange for an honest review.
This book follows the mystery of a young woman who is married to a terrible man but needs to stay with him because he is taking care of the expenses surrounding her mothers stay in a long term care facility. One day, her husband mysteriously dies, which doesn’t necessarily upset her or make her happy, but she is left with ALOT of questions, especially when she finds out that he was married previously and his former wife disappeared. Also, there is no record of her marriage anywhere….so she is struggling to find out the truth. In the meantime, her mother has been talking to a mysterious guest, and the first wife seems to have reappeared
The main character is likeable although I wish she had more of a backbone, and her dedication to her mother is commendable. The story follows at a quick clip with suprises everywhere.
I am not sure how I feel about her feelings towards a man who treated her awfully…but it does make the story more satisfying in the end.
A good drama with some suspense and characters and add to the tension and drama.
Happy Reading
