Her Perfect Life by Hank Phillipi Ryan

Rating: 2.5 out of 5.

I just finished reading “Her Perfect Life” by Hank Phillipi Ryan. It was an interesting concept, introducing a main character who lives a perfect life. This perfect life is disrupted by the possible reappearance of her long-gone sister Cassie, who left without a trace many years earlier. This has caused Lily (the main character) to seek privacy in her life especially around her daughter.

The book’s main plot line is to find out what happened to Cassie and where she is currently which Lily does through a very mysterious stranger. Of course there are some red flags throughout the book which make it a compelling read, but it was a bit cliched toward the end. There were a few minor plot lines that were never addressed, and overall, the ending fell flat. I wish there was more drama and intrigue and suspense and conflict. Instead, it ended with a bit of a whimper instead of the bang I so wanted.

I suppose it is good enough to read since I managed to read to the end, but I was almost relieved when I got to the last page, if I were to be completely honest.

Thank you to Net Galley for providing me with an advanced copy. And thank you to my readers for tuning in.
