The Last Time I Lied by Riley Sager

The Last Time I Lied by Riley Sager

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

I just read a great book called, “The Last Time I Lied by Riley Sager. I would consider it to be a psychological thriller because it keeps the reader guessing until the very end….and let the tell you… the ending is AWESOME.

Without giving too much away, the story focusses on an artist who shares some secrets about past happenings at a camp that she used to attend while she was young with some other girls. Three of the girls from her group mysteriously disappear one night, never to be found.

Fast forward many years, and the main character, Emma, has the opportunity to return to the camp where it all happened as an art instructor. Emma can’t resist returning and is soon swallowed into finding out what really happened that fateful night fifteen years ago. The further she looks into the mystery, the more intrigue she finds and she may be too far up to her eyeballs in trouble.

The author does an excellent job with slowly building up the mystery and tying it all up quite nicely at the end. But the last few pages had me sreaming with delight. Totally did not see that coming.

A must read for anyone who enjoys this genre or pshycological or mystery thrillers.
