I just read the book “Fail to Fight” by Maci Dillon. I will start by saying that this is not the typical genre of book I choose. Normally, I like mystery or psychological thrillers. I chose to step out of my norm and explore the world of sexy romance as I like to call it. This book is quite short, and there will be another book revolving around other characters that were introduced by the author.
This book revolves around ex-lovers Chloe and Will who were deeply in love and then broke up and then didn’t speak to each other for ten years. When Will’s new wife tells him he needs to get over Chloe, Will decides to find her and put closure to what happened between them and why they broke up.
So they meet up and realize that they still love each other very much and can’t live without each other, and then Will asks Chloe for a second chance and she says……. read the book to find out!
The suspense was good and the characters had some but not a lot of layers to them. They were too much of the stereotypes in these type of books. I HATED that he calls her “little one”. I find that so condescending. But…the author did a good job of describing the attraction between them. The sexy scenes were good, but at the end of the day….. I think I will stick with psychological thrillers.
I would like to thank Net Galley for providing me with a free copy, and wish the author good luck with her next book. This is a book that fits with the genre, but I guess I am not a fan of this genre.
Happy Reading all…Talk soon.
