I just finished reading “The Marriage”, by K.L. Slater and I really enjoyed it. This book is about a woman whose son dies very young at the hands of his best friend. At the beginning of the book it is revealed that she has fallen in love with and is going to marry the man who murdered her son. WHAT!!!b And…he is twenty years younger than her.
At first it seems like she has a plan and that she is doing this to hurt him…and his mother, who is obviously against the marriage. So seems to be everyone else, including the grandson who wants nothing to do with the man who killed his father. There is also something fishy going on with the dad who seems very detached and overly critical of his son. You would think he would be happy that his son is back..but he almost seems upset.
What follows is a circus of drama that makes the book unputdownable as secrets are slowly revealed to expose many truths (some that I didn’t see coming.
I enjoyed this book…It was thrilling, suspenseful, well-written and full of action.
